Finally...

Finally!!! Cass and I are finally done with the remodeling we decided to tackle before moving in. All the wallpaper in the rooms we're living in has been removed and the walls are painted. Those rooms of course include the kitchen (we're still going to paint the cabinets someday), living and dining rooms, and our master bedroom. Plus we installed new light fixtures in all the rooms except for the living room because there weren't any to begin with.

My mom and dad came out on Saturday to help us with painting the living and dining rooms. Those rooms had a real faint peach-ish color on the walls and we decided to change that to "Classic Khaki." At least, that's the name Olympic gave the color anyway. So the four of us painted for a good 7 or more hours getting two coats of paint up.

The end result was even better than I was expecting, I gotta say that! I didn't think it'd be such a noticeable difference, but I was wrong. The two rooms really feel much warmer and inviting in my opinion. We tried and tried to come up with a color that would look good with the green carpet and I think this color is just about as good as it gets. The curtains and furniture should only make the rooms look better I think. ('Cause they'll hide more of the green...)

So, that was Saturday in a nutshell, just painting pretty much all day with my parents. The four of us went out for dinner at the newly opened "Ram's Horn" restaurant near the Kroger on Whittaker Rd. It was pretty good. We're glad to know there's a decent restaurant nearby that won't cost us a fortune.

Sunday we went to church which was wonderful as usual, and then we ran a bunch of errands one of which included buying a new chandelier for the dining room and tiki torches for the patio. (Which i forgot to take a picture of, but everyone knows what those look like.) Shortly after returning home, Cass and I installed the new chandelier and basically relaxed for most of the rest of the evening. That old chandelier was just terrible, so we were happy to see it go. That evening, we grilled, sat out on our patio furniture, and ate dinner outside just enjoying our backyard. I also loosened up the soil where the leaf piles killed the grass in the backyard and planted some new grass seed. Hopefully, that'll start growing while it's still cool in the mornings.

Now all that's left to do is move in! For now anyways. Once we get everything moved in, I'll be sure to post some new photos with everything in place.

As for now, it's time for a few more before and after shots!

After!

Another after of the dining room.

Living Room before...

After! This one doesn't look like much of a change in the pictures, but it just feels so much better now with the khaki color!

Well that's all the photos we have for now of the transformation, but we're going to be posting more pictures as we move in and everything so stay tuned! There's more to come.
